About Us


Justin and Stormee Wills have created a family on the Oregon Coast. That family encompasses their life with their two children, as well as the larger community they feel lucky to be a part of in Newport and Depoe Bay.

At Sorella the Wills set a large table and provide a warm, welcoming place for your family to gather. Sorella means sister in Italian, a nod to their daughter Isla, as their first restaurant, Restaurant Beck, was named after their son Becker.

Our Food & Drinks


Justin and Stormee created Sorella to show a more casual side of Justin’s food, where plates of pasta and pizza are passed, salads and antipasti are shared and there’s always room for dessert.

The cocktail list at Sorella is fresh, seasonal and delicious. Bar Manager Sean Bird always has a twist and a trick up his sleeve, and his cocktails will leave you refreshed and smiling. The wines and beers are from Oregon, Italy, California, and Washington. Our cocktails feature an array of house made bitters and limoncello.

Justin Wills

Justin is known for his role as Executive Chef / Owner of Restaurant Beck, where progressive Northwest cooking is presented in playful, artistic dishes, all served in a comfortable atmosphere. The menu is so seasonally minded that in addition to sourcing the freshest sustainable fish, meat, and produce available, Justin regularly hand forages nearby beaches and forests for edible delicacies.

Sorella, located in the historic Nye Beach neighborhood of Newport, Oregon, allows Justin’s relaxed Italian side to run free with its comforting, rustic fare including salads, house made pastas and pizzas plus a killer cocktail list. Growing up in a large Italian family in Des Moines, Iowa, Justin always cooked with his grandmother, Nana, whose family was originally from Northern Italy, Friuli–Venezia. He still does. Family get-togethers then and now always revolve around food – polenta, pastachini, timpali, guantas cookies. Justin has been included as a James Beard semi-finalist for Best Chef Northwest in 2012 and 2013, and was nominated as a People’s Best New Chef, Food & Wine Magazine in 2011.

Stormee Wills

Stormee Wills is the General Manager and Sommelier of Sorella and Restaurant Beck, both of which she co-owns with her husband. Stormee welcomes diners into both restaurants the same way she welcomes friends into her own home. She works hard to ensure guests from all walks of life to feel comfortable, enjoy a good meal and glass of wine.

Stormee has worked in the hospitality industry since age 14 when she started as a housekeeper at Inn at Cape Kiwanda, then worked in several front of house positions at the Pelican Pub for 10 years. During that time, she earned a four-year degree in Health Education studying at Western Oregon University and University of Oregon. With Stormee at the helm, both restaurants promote independent, lesser-known wineries. Her wine lists feature limited distribution domestic and imported wines, but the most popular are the small production local Oregon wines by the glass like Trisaetum, Holloran, and Evesham Wood. Stormee has achieved consecutive Oregon Wine A-List Awards since 2016.
